Have you ever prayed for something and been specific about what you were praying for? What I love about today’s chapters in the Old Testament is how Abraham’s servant asked God for exactly what he needed and wanted for his master. I also love that his prayer was answered immediately!
I think this shows the diversity of our God. His timing is always perfect and His timing can be immediately or a few years down the road… either way, He always shows up on time.
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”Matthew 7:7-8
A lot of times we do not want to be disappointed or let down, so we tend to pray generic prayers. Prayers that don’t involve much risk or openness. We know God knows our every thought, need, desire, etc… yet sometimes we’re afraid to ask Him. His Word says that if we ask, we WILL receive… I think we ought to be more upfront with God when it comes to our questions. Whether you have a question about your faith, or praying about a test you having coming up in school, we owe it to God to be clear about what is on our hearts at any given moment.
When we pray more detailed, honest, raw, prayers, like Abraham’s servant, we too will see God show up at unexpected times and provide EXACTLY what we asked for. I love when that happens! Pray and He will respond, reminding you that He cares, is FOR you and is watching over you.
Pray BOLD prayers, friends!
